How do I know if I need a wheel alignment?

If your BMW, Mini Cooper or Mercedes drifts to one side and you have to turn the steering wheel away from the center position to drive straight, that is a good indication that your wheels are out of alignment. Perhaps it is the result of hitting a deep pothole or scoring a direct hit on a curb while parking.  No matter what the cause, you need a wheel alignment services.

How are the Wheels aligned?

Some vehicles require only that the front wheels be aligned, but many car-based models require four-wheel alignment. Alignment specifications differ by vehicle, and it isn’t as simple as just making sure all four wheels are pointed straight ahead.

Alignment Specifics

Depending on the vehicle, proper alignment involves setting the camber (inward or outward tilt of the wheels when looking head on), caster (wheel tilt front or back looking from the side) and toe-in or toe-out (looking down at the wheels from above). The adjustments are measured in fractions of an inch and require specialized alignment equipment

How Often Do Wheels Need To Be Aligned?

How often it should be done is depends on your car, driving style and the roads you drive. If your vehicle tracks as straight as an arrow, it normally means you’re wheels are properly aligned the only catch to that is roads are designed to be higher in the middle then slope to the sides to eliminate standing water, which means it’s possible a perfectly aligned car can drift slightly on any road.

Always Get An Alignment When You Get New Tires.

The one time that you should always get your alignment checked and almost always will need correction is right after you put on new tires. With the different tires, tread depths, putting the new tire on your rim and then the car. With all those changes and adjustments you will need to get your alignment back on track.
